What is Shakti

Shakti is the Essence of Life

Big Shakti is dedicated to providing you with the tools to create more Shakti in every aspect of your life, from your personal health to your life purpose and aspirations, and your spiritual growth.

Shakti is the essence of health, happiness and meaning in your life. Anything that has Shakti is alive, luminous and desirable and possesses great creative power. Without Shakti we could not act, think or feel in any way.

Shakti is the essence of vibrant good health and powers all physical functions. Shakti powers all the elements of our mind, all of our thoughts and emotions, memories and desires. Shakti fuels all of our mental faculties, supporting strong balanced growth and development.

When we have Shakti we have the energy to engage with life in meaningful ways. We enjoy learning and changing, and find purpose and fulfillment in everyday life. Shakti gives us the interest and intention to engage in conscious self-development.

Do You Have Shakti?

It is easy to understand shakti by asking yourself how much shakti you feel that you have. Review the following and see how you measure up.

-Shakti is the ability to expel the things that our body and life does not need.

- Ultimately Shakti is the fuel that powers our spiritual growth and the awakening of consciousness.

Yoga Shakti

There are three main forms of Shakti:

  • The power to know – called gyana (jnana) shakti in Sanskrit
  • Will power – iccha shakti
  • The power to act – kriya shakti

Yoga philosophy describes three forms of shakti related to body, mind and spirit:

  • Physical vitality (prana shakti) governs all physical actions, organs and functions. Cultivate this form of shakti via deep relaxation techniques such as Yoga Nidra and those found in the Prana and Pranic Healing MP3/CD.

  • Mental energy (chitta shakti) governs all of our mental functions, including our intelligence, thinking, emotions, memory, desires, courage, decision making, planning and so on. All meditation techniques develop mental power, however it is especially well developed by the techniques found on Ajapa Japa, Illuminating Your Heart’s Desire and Core Strength Calm Mind.

  • Spiritual energy (atma shakti) is the causal and creative power of consciousness. Develop spiritual shakti by techniques such as those found on the Chakras and Ajapa Japa.
