eMag ~ Cleansing, Energy, and Conscious Renewal

We write to you from South India, where we continue to immerse ourselves in the profound spiritual energies that permeate this ancient land. India has always been more than a geographical location for us. It is a living tapestry of consciousness, where the sacred reveals itself in temple courtyards, in the faces of devoted practitioners, and in the very atmosphere that surrounds sacred sites.
Cleanse & Renew
The past few weeks in India have been a time of deep recuperation and renewal, allowing us to drink from wells of spiritual tradition that have sustained seekers for millennia. We've also had the great fortune to connect with like-minded yogis and spiritual practitioners, sharing insights and practices in that spontaneous way that happens when souls recognize each other on the path.Whilst here, we have been blessed to undergo traditional Ayurvedic Panchakarma treatments, experiencing firsthand how these powerful cleansing techniques work on multiple levels — physical, energetic, and psychological. The process has been both challenging and deeply transformative, clearing away accumulated toxins and creating space for new creative energy to emerge.
2026 Vision: From Teaching to Publishing
This year marks a significant shift in the direction of our work. After many years of teaching courses and workshops we are now focusing our primary energy on writing and publishing a few more books.
This decision represents the natural evolution of our work that has been gestating for decades. We have accumulated an extraordinary body of teachings refined through direct engagement with students and their questions, struggles, and breakthroughs. Much of this wisdom has lived only in 1:1 consultation and course formats, and now feels like the right time to transform these teachings into permanent, accessible resources.
We're not abandoning our teaching. Rather, we're expanding it into a new medium that will allow our work to:
- reach people we might never meet in person;
- serve as ongoing companions for serious practitioners; and
- create something lasting that can continue to guide seekers long after we're gone.
This transition from oral teaching to the written word is itself a kind of alchemy, requiring us to distil years of experience into clear, evocative writing that can transmit not just information, but transformation.
Planned Book Themes
The subjects we plan to explore in book form span the full spectrum of our interests and expertise.
Yoga psychology will be central to much of what we create. This is a rich field that bridges the profound insights of Eastern spiritual practice with the depth psychological frameworks of the West.
We've spent years exploring how yogic concepts of consciousness, the koshas, samskāras, and spiritual transformation interface with Jungian psychology's understanding of the unconscious, archetypes, shadow work, and individuation. It is our hope that our books will make these connections explicit and practical, showing how ancient yogic wisdom and modern depth psychology illuminate each other, enhancing both traditions.
We'll be writing extensively about:
- The chakra system and kundalinī, not as mere energy centers to be visualized in meditation, but as profound psychological and spiritual realms we can use to map the entire journey of human consciousness.
- Tantric philosophy and practice, bringing light to these often-misunderstood teachings in ways that honor their depth while making them accessible to sincere practitioners.
Throughout all our books, there will be a consistent Jungian thread, because we've found that Jung's psychology provides an invaluable lens for understanding and integrating yogic practices in the Western psyche. Shadow work, archetypal understanding, and the individuation process aren't separate from yoga. They’re complementary paths toward wholeness that, when woven together, create something more powerful than either tradition alone.
What This Means for Our Community
For those of you who have been part of our teaching community, this shift into publishing represents an expansion of our teachings. You'll have comprehensive written resources that extend on the course material; serving as permanent references for the practices and concepts we've explored together that you can return to again and again as your understanding deepens.
While we'll continue to teach and offer guidance, these books will give you tools for your own independent journey, resources that can accompany you through the various stages and challenges of spiritual practice.
And perhaps most importantly, our written work will allow you to share these teachings with others: students, friends, or family members who might benefit from this integration of yogic and Jungian wisdom.
We're excited to bring these projects to fruition, and we're grateful to all of you who have supported our work and encouraged us to make these teachings available in more permanent form.
This movement from teaching into writing has naturally invited us into a slower, more reflective rhythm. Writing demands distillation — not only of ideas, but of lived experience, energy, and attention. It asks us to notice what is essential, what has matured, and what can now be released. In that same spirit, February feels like an invitation for all of us to pause and listen more closely to how our own energy is organised. The reflections below are offered as quiet touchstones — not tasks to complete, but gentle inquiries that allow clarity to surface in its own time.

Reflection
As you move through February, take time to sit quietly with these contemplations:
-
What am I currently carrying that no longer serves my energy or clarity?
Observe physical habits, emotional patterns, mental narratives, or commitments that create subtle heaviness or resistance. -
Where does my system naturally settle when I stop striving or fixing?
Notice the felt sense of balance, calm, or vitality that arises when effort softens and awareness steadies. -
How can I create space each day for my energy to reorganise itself?
Reflect on simple, repeatable practices that allow digestion — not just of food, but of experience, emotion, and thought.
These reflections are not problems to solve, but doorways into deeper self-regulation and inner listening.

Supporting Cleanse, Renewal & Energy Regulation
Periods of cleansing- whether through Panchakarma, lifestyle change, or inner reflection - require practices that stabilise and rebuild energy, not overstimulate it.
Our Life Force Meditation Series was created precisely for this purpose.
Rather than chasing peak experiences, this series works methodically with:
- restoring vitality after depletion,
- grounding the nervous system,
- strengthening the energetic core, and
- cultivating steady, sustainable awareness.
The three-phase structure mirrors the natural rhythm of renewal:
- building energy,
- stabilising and aligning it, and
- clarifying awareness through purification.
For those feeling the call to reset, consolidate, or gently reorient their practice this year, this series provides a clear, supportive pathway.

Conscious Renewal
As we move through this year of writing, reflection, and renewal, we’re reminded that meaningful spiritual work is rarely about accumulation. More often, it’s about simplification:
- clearing what obscures
- strengthening what supports, and
- listening more closely to what is already present.
For some, this process of renewal naturally raises deeper questions about direction and meaning. When energy stabilises and distractions fall away, what we’re here to live and express often becomes clearer — not as an idea, but as a felt sense.
Our Finding Life Purpose course is designed for this stage of inquiry. It explores purpose through yogic psychology, self-observation, and inner alignment, rather than external roles or achievements. For those feeling a subtle shift underway, it offers a structured yet reflective way to listen more deeply to what is calling you forward.
Purpose, as we understand it, isn’t a destination to reach but an ongoing relationship with life. One that deepens as clarity, energy, and self-awareness grow. Sometimes simply holding the question with sincerity is enough to begin that process. And there’s no need to resolve these questions immediately. For some, they arise as a quiet curiosity; for others, as a deeper inner nudge. Wherever you find yourself, honouring your own rhythm and allowing understanding to mature naturally, is itself an act of conscious renewal.
Whether your practice is quiet or active, steady or evolving, may February offer you moments of clarity, nourishment, and renewed connection to your inner resources.
Thank you for walking alongside us in this season.
With gratitude,
Jayne and Swami Shankardev
